Pitney Bowes suffered a great loss this week. We were all shocked and saddened to learn that Alex Reese, Customer Service Manager for Detroit, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio, was killed in a car accident Monday morning during an ice storm. Alex was a hard working, loyal employee with 35 years of exemplary service at Pitney Bowes. His many, many friends and co-workers at Pitney Bowes across the country remember Alex’s smile, sense of humor and true generosity of spirit. His main focus was on giving to others – including his family, his friends, and his co-workers.

Alex joined Pitney Bowes in 1971 as a Field Service Manager in Van Nuys, California. He worked his way up to District Manager for various districts in California as well as New Orleans before moving to Michigan and leading the Detroit district for the last nine years. This past year was a banner year for Alex – he earned Pinnacle Club and led his district to great success. Alex was an integral part of our service team and our company, and will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alex’s family and friends during this very difficult time. Alex is survived by his wife, Alma Denise, his three children, Alexandra, Ayanna and Roselind, and his three grandchildren.

Services will be held next Tuesday, Dec. 11th, at 11 a.m. at Haley Funeral Directors in Southfield, Michigan. There will be a viewing the evening before on Monday, December 10th from 2 to 6 p.m. There will also be additional funeral services later in California.

Please join me in keeping Alex’s family, friends, and coworkers in your thoughts and prayers.
